Why Electrum?
The Electrum Group is a small, locally-owned company offering affordable apartments, homes, and retail space in the heart of Champaign - Urbana, both on the University of Illinois campus and just off campus. We're celebrating 34 years in 2025 as one of Champaign-Urbana's highest-rated landlords.
Our philosophy
Our own experience as tenants of the big apartment firms in Champaign-Urbana led us to develop a friendlier, tenant-oriented management style. Since 1991, we've stuck with our commitment to never rent units we wouldn't live in ourselves, and to always treat our tenants as we would want to be treated.
Our specialities
We're drawn to "antique" properties--homes and buildings with interesting architectural details, craftsmanship, and history. We specialize in offering comfortable, modern units with a nod to the building's unique past.
